Forget everything you’ve heard before, those are merely rumors that got everyone excited over nothing.  Call it a cruel joke, a hoax, call it anything you want, just don’t call it true.

Aerosmith’s exclusive agent has gotten in touch and released a statement clarifying that there never was any truth to these false rumors.

To read the statement and to learn more about how this madness all began, click here.

But don’t worry good rockers of Manila, the Stone Temple Pilots are coming!!!

Update from February 22, 2011 3pm.

One of our readers managed to speak with someone from Divan Media and was told to wait for announcements within the week.
This is what he was told:

What i like about that is that there is finally some finality.  We can expect to hear from them within the week and if we dont, then i’d say it then becomes really sketchy!
By the way, the hotel they are booked received a confirmation this morning that they are indeed coming, so to hold their reservation.

This gives us some hope now! I wont count on it just yet but im happy to see some form of progress towards their coming!

LATEST UPDATE!

I spent my weekend out and about and searching for more information and these are facts that i learned over the weekend.

1.  A sound supplier for major concerts in Manila made a call to inquire on the truth of this concert and was told that it is likely not going to happen.  (seems like the production group is really in negotiations with them but it seems like they will be unable to make it happen).

2.  Joey Kramer, drummer of Aerosmith first said that the rumors of their coming are absolutely untrue and later went on to saying that it is a hoax.  And besides, they’re busy recording in the studio.

3.  A producer who works with most international shows also inquired from other people in the know and learned that Divan Media has paid the 10% deposit fee but is unable to come up with the balance of 90% to pay the band.  Without payment, there’s no way that Aerosmith will come.  They apparently also paid Taylor Swift 10% before but was also unable to come up with the balance.  So, that being said, it is doubtful that Aerosmith will come.

4.  With the date scheduled on April 2, 2011, there is not enough time to promote the show.  Even if the band can sell tickets very easily because of the massive fan base, sponsors will not get the most out of that mileage because the date is so close already.  Normally, sponsors sign up to concert promotions when the concert is promoted for at least 3 whole months prior to the show.

Sad to say, but with all these facts in place, it is starting to look unlikely that Aerosmith will be performing in Manila on April 2.  Sorry guys, im just as disappointed as the rest of you…

NEW UPDATE!

Joey Kramer of Aerosmith on his twitter account was asked if they were indeed performing in Manila on the 2nd of April.
This was his reply…WTF?!

Update!

I guess the poster makes it more legit huh?!  Woohoo!!!

Tickets will be available starting this Monday!  Here we go guys!

Aerosmith will arrive in Manila on March 31 for their April 2, 2011 Concert!!!

Previous information:

Update!  They are already booked at a 5 star hotel in Manila for the date of the concert!  Looks as if there is more truth to this little by little!  Still keeping my fingers crossed!

Apparently, Steven Tyler’s contract with American Idol states that his schedule with Aerosmith is not to be disturbed!

Check this out!
“Mr. Tyler’s ‘American Idol’ contract was specifically negotiated to work around his Aerosmith touring and recording schedule. It is the role of band representatives to ensure that all group members and the public have accurate and up to date data and if false information is made public, that these inaccuracies are corrected immediately.”

Original Post:

Is Aerosmith coming to Manila?

I spoke to a concert promoter here in Manila about a week ago and he mentioned that there was word that Aerosmith was coming to Manila.  However, upon further investigation it was discovered that this information could not have been true.  Today, i see a website that states it as a fact with a specific date and venue to boot!  So, I went on the Aerosmith website to see what i could find, and as far as the site shares, the tour is actually over.  Which in my mind makes sense as isn’t Steven Tyler busy with American Idol?

I dont know what to think anymore right now but by God am i crossing my fingers that they do indeed come on down.  That would be the best!  Rock N Roll at its finest!!!

If its true, remember this!
